Backing Malta’s communities for the long term

At the Melita Foundation, we have spent the past five years standing alongside the people and organisations that make our islands a better place to live and work. Since 2020, we have supported nearly 100 voluntary community projects spanning digital skills, creativity, heritage and the environment.

What we have learned is simple: the most meaningful change rarely happens in twelve months. Real impact takes time, planning and the security of knowing you can see a programme through to the end.

That is why I am pleased to share that the Melita Foundation has launched a new multi-year call for funding. Covering a three-year period to 2028, this round allows eligible organisations to apply for up to €30,000 in support, with the flexibility to plan and deliver longer-term initiatives that create lasting value in Malta and Gozo.

For the business community, this matters too. Many of you partner with the voluntary sector, support causes through your teams, or rely on a thriving social fabric for the wellbeing of the people you employ. By giving Maltese and Gozitan voluntary organisations greater stability, we hope to multiply the good work already happening across our islands.
