Tayar Foundation

The Melita Foundation is supporting the Anne Frank exhibition to be held in Valletta and organised by the Tayar Foundation for Jewish Heritage in Malta. With this exhibition, designed by the Anne Frank Museum in Amsterdam, the organisers aim to inform visitors about the history of the Holocaust from the perspective of Anne Frank and her family; show visitors that cultural, ethnic, religious and political differences between people exist in every society; challenge visitors to think about concepts such as tolerance, mutual respect, human rights and democracy; help visitors to understand that a society where differences between people are respected does not come about by itself.

The Tayar Foundation for Jewish Heritage in Malta is a newly established organisation aiming to preserve and promote Jewish heritage and history in Malta. The Foundation’s first event is the Anne Frank exhibition to be held in March/April 2022. This international traveling exhibition, provided by the Anne Frank House of Amsterdam aims to:

  • Inform visitors about the history of the Holocaust from the perspective of Anne Frank and her family;
  • Show visitors that cultural, ethnic, religious and political differences between people exist in every society.
  • Challenge visitors to think about concepts such as tolerance, mutual respect, human rights and democracy;
  • Help visitors to understand that a society where differences between people are respected does not come about by itself.

The exhibition will be held in Valletta and will be open for the general public, school children, students and visiting groups.

Working together for a better future

Since our launch in 2020, The Melita Foundation has supported dozens of projects run by many diverse organisations. Project beneficiaries range from the very young to the very young-at-heart, from the the very local – such as supporting STEM skills development for school children in the Three Cities – to projects which will have an impact beyond our borders: supporting extensive tree planting; developing skills in maritime law and conservation; preserving parts of our heritage entwined with our diaspora.
