Science centre

The Science Centre covers the STEM subjects in primary, secondary and post-secondary education. The Melita Foundation is supporting Science Centre with the code sprint, a national coding contest that has become a yearly calendar event.

The Melita Foundation is supporting the Science Centre with the prizes for the top 10 finalists to showcase their programming skills and meet with industry leaders in the IT sphere.

code.sprint is a national coding competition organised by the Science Centre within the Directorate for Learning and Assessment Programmes (DLAP) together with the Institute for Computer Education (ICE Malta). Coding enthusiasts put their skills to the test by working their way through a series of tasks to earn a spot at the finals.

Working together for a better future

Since our launch in 2020, The Melita Foundation has supported dozens of projects run by many diverse organisations. Project beneficiaries range from the very young to the very young-at-heart, from the the very local – such as supporting STEM skills development for school children in the Three Cities – to projects which will have an impact beyond our borders: supporting extensive tree planting; developing skills in maritime law and conservation; preserving parts of our heritage entwined with our diaspora.
