The Melita Foundation supported The Saġġar Project’s tree-planting initiative, promoting eco-friendly practices and greening up Malta.
The Saġġar Project aims to rejuvenate Malta’s ecology by planting one million native trees and shrubs. The Melita Foundation supported the planting of 1000 trees, helping to restore ecological reserves and public lands whilst preserving Malta’s natural heritage and promoting sustainable practices. By engaging the community in tree planting and environmental education, the project fosters a collective effort towards a greener and healthier Malta.
Since starting in 2020, The Melita Foundation has backed many projects run by different groups and backgrounds. From local STEM skills for school kids in the Three Cities to global stuff like planting trees, ESG awareness, teaching maritime law and conservation and ensuring our heritage is well taken care of.
