A local artisan turned what could’ve ended up as landfill waste into gorgeous, eco-friendly awards for all race categories for the half marathon, 10K, 5K, 2K, and 0.9K races. This initiative brought together environmental awareness, cultural heritage, and local craftsmanship, adding depth and meaning to one of Gozo’s key sporting events.
The project reached over 1,550 athletes and impacted 3,000+ additional people, including families, volunteers, and the local community. The trophies, prominently displayed on the main stage, reinforced the event’s message of sustainability and helped elevate the Gozo Marathon’s profile both locally and internationally.
