Call for Funding: Multi-Year Projects 2026–2028

Got a big idea with the power to change Malta? Let’s make it happen. The Melita Foundation is opening its next multi-year funding call – giving Voluntary Organisations up to three years of steady support to build projects that leave a real mark on our islands.

Why Multi-Year?

Because powerful change needs space to grow. We’re here for projects that evolve, scale and keep delivering impact year after year.

We’re backing projects that are:

VO-driven & long-term – built to grow, not just launch.
Impactful & measurable – making a real difference with clear results.

Bring us your boldest ideas in:

Creativity – art that sparks connection and opens doors.
Digital Skills – tech confidence, inclusion, AI know-how.
Environment – big-thinking sustainability for Malta’s future.
Heritage & Culture – safeguarding the stories that make us who we are.

Projects with objectives of inclusion and social contribution will be given priority.

Who Can Apply

You’re good to go if your organisation:

Is a registered and compliant VO with MCVS
Operates in Malta or Gozo
Can deliver and report on a multi-year project
With a project that will running at any time this year or the next, and should continue to run for at least three years.

This fund supports specific projects – not general operating costs, past activities or individual sponsorships.

FAQs

Can we apply for more than one project?

Yes! If you’ve got more than one great idea, send them in – just submit a separate application for each.

How much funding can we request?

Clear, realistic budgets always stand out. Projects up to €30K over the 3 year course will be given priority.

Can we include salaries?

If they are directly related to the project and help drive the project forward, include them.

Do we have to start the project immediately?

The project should be running at any time this year or the next, and should continue to run for at least three years.

Are partnerships allowed?

Yes! Team-ups, collabs, joint missions – all welcome. Just let us know who’s doing what.

Do you cover general running costs?

Only if they directly support the project. Everyday overheads or past expenses aren’t part of this fund.
