Salesjani Senglea work to encourage young people to engage in their community by providing a safe and comfortable space to interact, by restoring heritage buildings and artefacts, and providing support to people in the area. The Melita Foundation will be supporting Selesjani Senglea in the restoration of the façade of the Church of Porto Salvo locally known as San Filippu.
The project involves the restoration of an iconic, scheduled building and aims at restoring pride in Senglea’s rich heritage and history by celebrating the efforts of the Oratorians and their activities that spanned more than 250 years. Locals and tourists alike will benefit from the project by providing a new sense of pride in an area that has long been neglected and rundown.
